He said Yonasani happened to be a resident of Rubabo B Cell in Nyabushenyi Parish, Nyarushanje Sub-county in Rukunjiri District.
Maate said Turyamureeba has for long been embroiled in a domestic misunderstanding with his first wife Ntegyereize Sadress.
The issue mainly emerged from the land she claimed had been unevenly distributed amongst the four wives.
Apparently, the Local Council settled the matter but Ntegyereize and her children remained unsatisfied.
Maate also said the suspects include Denis Nuwamanya, Idan Ainebyona, Consolanta Tindikyeitire, Atananzio Muhwezi, and Sadress Ntegyereize, the deceased’s wife.
Apparently, on Saturday, January 1st, 2022 at around 7:00 pm, Denis and Idan, invited their father to Rwakaraba Trading Centre. While here, they saw them drinking alcohol together. Niwamanya had a sharp panga in his possession.
Maate further said that at around 10:00 pm on the same night, the deceased and the two sons left the trading centre. On Sunday morning, at around 7:00 am, passersby noticed the body of the deceased lying dead along a feeder road.
The elder son, Byamukama Wenceslas, 35, reported the incident at Rubabo Police Station. Police recorded a case of murder.
Maate says that Police conducted a search and recovered a sharp panga from the home of Denis Nuwamanya. Police then took Turyamureba’s body to Rwakabengo Health Center III for postmortem.
