President Biden Sends President Museveni Special Message

The State House has reported that President Yoweri Museveni has received a special message from his counterpart, President Joe Biden.

The US Ambassador to Uganda, Natalie Brown, who held a meeting with the President at State House on Tuesday, delivered the special message.

‘’I had a meeting with the US Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Natalie Brown, accompanied by Amb. Adonia Ayebare. We discussed issues of mutual interest. She also delivered to me a message from H.E Joe Biden, the president of the United States of America,’’ Museveni Tweeted.

The two, during their meeting, discussed regional and international issues, according to the Senior Presidential Press Secretary.

This development comes barely a week after Museveni confronted the Western countries for always interfering in Africa’s business.

Museveni revealed that together with South Africa’s Jacob Zuma, he wanted to counter the west for invading Libya in 2011. The duo, however, faced disappointment from Gaddafi who abandoned Tripoli without a fight.

Museveni does not need lectures about democracy

Museveni also insisted that the West is on several occasions looking for aggression against other weaker countries. He, however, noted that this has never been the goal for Africa to want to fight with anybody except fighting to eradicate poverty and under-development.

And according to him, Museveni needs no lectures about democracy from the West.

‘’I doubt there are many comparable pro-democratic structures in the world. It is therefore quite comic and laughable to hear some actors in the world giving us lectures about democracy. You give me lectures about democracy, what are your credentials!’’ Museveni wondered.

It is, however, not clear exactly what the message from the U.S. said as its contents were not revealed.
