President Museveni Launches New Kasubi Market

As part of efforts to make Kampala a more organised city, president Museveni presided over the commissioning of the new Kasubi Market and the launch of construction works on the Lubigi and Nakamiro drainage channels.

The two drainage channels will relieve the people of Kawempe and Bwaise of flooding especially in the rainy season. The project will be completed in 12 months.

On the other hand, Kasubi Market will house over 1,400 traders though currently only 800 are using it because of SOPs on social distancing. With this facility functional, I urge those who have been selling merchandise along the roads to use it instead.

Finally, president Museveni said he still sees people flouting guidelines they put in place to check the spread of Covid-19, adding that this disease is serious and we have so far lost five lives which could have been saved. Please don’t be reckless,’he added.

Thank you for launching the the projects which will undoubtedly benefit the community in the above areas of Kampala. For those violating or not adhering to measures aimed at preventing the spread of COVID 19 both sensitisation and enforcement should be strengthened so that the country does not experience a surge in the number of people getting infected or dying due to complacency, indiscipline and stubbornness,’Mathew commented.

The way you made us suffer looking for alternative routes from Nansana. I realized you are not a pipoz president, rather a dictator. Why would you close off roads(just because you are launching the market) and send pipo to use poor roads that have never been worked on for over 34yrs,’Gidada commented.

Thank u so much our dear president for all the good work humbly asking to talk to mama Janet increase on the slots for diploma holders on government sponsorship scheme especially in Kabale university thanks,’Veronica commented.

Ahaa, your ministers have liberty! Sincerely speaking, I’ve learned that it’s very easier to run a country if you can get time to commission drainages,’Ruth commented.
