Like Anyone Else, Museveni Will Die – Says Hon Ronald Balimwezo

Nakawa East MP Hon Ronald Balimwezo has apparently “predicted” the death of President Museveni. In fact, it’s not a prediction but a fact as the MP said that Museveni will someday pass on like anybody else.

He however wondered how he will leave the country once he dies. Balimwezo added that countries have been thrown into turmoil once long-serving presidents die in power.

For a long time, the issue of Museveni leaving power has been a national chatter. Museveni who has been in power for now 37 years since 1986 hasn’t shown any desire to step down.

It will be 40 years by the end of his current term ruling Uganda in 2026. However, there is huge speculation that he will run again for office in the next General election.

The talk of a successor has been rife in the recent past. This has come as his son, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba seems ready to take on the mantle. Preparations are even already underway with him making it clear that he’s eying the presidency.

However, according to Balimwezo, this Muhoozi presidential ambition is to hoodwink people. This is because Museveni will definitely bounce back in 2026.

“President Museveni will pass on someday as anyone else does. The question is how will he leave this country? We have seen what happens in other countries where the President dies in power.

The next election, President Museveni will be on the ballot paper. This Muhoozi talk is to distract people,” said Hon Balimwezo.

Muhoozi last week made a number of announcements in regard to his political ambitions. These involved nominating Andrew Mwenda as the spokesperson of the MK movement.

Events promoter Balaam Barugahara was appointed deputy spokesperson for the western region. And Kasambya County MP Hon Daudi Kabanda deputy spokesperson for Buganda.

Many people are still going ahead to wonder about the essence of these announcements and processions from Muhoozi. They argue that he should take off the army uniform and juggle into the political arena.

However, time and time again, he’s shown who the boss’s boy is and who can be punished by the laws and not.

Meanwhile, the NRM old guard seem to be indulged in a battle against Muhoozi. However, they first son some time ago said that anyone against him is against his father.
