According to him, in such times of economic crisis, private media needs to make their money but this can’t be done when the president is consistently having his addresses on a weekly basis.
“Everything the president said in nearly 3 hours would have been summarized in 15 minutes. This business of disrupting business, especially for all private media, is unfair at a time when they are all struggling with high operating costs. It’s also not necessary to address us weekly,” Sudhir Byaruhanga said
The President in his speech yesterday said a number of things, including about fuel. He urged people to economize.
“If we wanted, we could talk to Russia and ask them to sell us subsidized fuel. For now, I don’t think that is necessary. For now let us economize the fuel as we get other solutions.”
The president in his whole speech summarized, is advocating for electric cars in the country. He spent over 3 hours on TV which has been one of the longest so far.
This perhaps wouldn’t have been an issue, but the lack of a more viable solution currently is what is nagging the public.
Meanwhile In seperate news, president Museveni told the people of Soroti that politics is specifically about a party that can ably solve the problems of the people.
He said this while he was campaigning for his party candidate, Hon. Herbert Edmund Ariko, in the Soroti City East by-election.
