“We have not seen any of the lists presented by the government of Ugandans who went missing during the 2021 elections. Yet the President directed that the names be released within two weeks. We need an explanation from the government,” He said
Ssebagala noted that in spite of the president’s acknowledgment of the government having these missing people, nothing more has been done. Adolf Mwesigye, the minister of defense had nothing much to say when Kadaga told him to address this issue.
What the minister of defense had to say;
“To my knowledge, all the security agencies have complied with the directive of the President. They have handed over the list of all the people who were arrested to Uganda Police and the Minister of Internal Affairs. These are in a better position to come and address the house and release the list,” Mwesigye said.
On hearing this, the speaker directed the security agencies to release a list by the end of today.
“The Minister of Internal Affairs is directed to come here tomorrow(today) and provide the full list of all those under custody whether under the UPDF or Uganda Police,” Kadaga said.
It is very alarming how people have kept on disappearing without any form of explanation to their relatives. More to this when most of them come back, they always appear with broken bones and injuries all over. So, what is the government communicating?
