The state Duma passed a bill earlier that would make it harder for evaders who avoid military services.
However this comes amidst reports indicating that many had refused to pick up mails at their official address to escape service.
The legislation includes the creation of one registry for all people who are eligible to serve in the military and the implementation of electronic military summonses following a copy of the legislation which was posted on a government website on Friday on TASS news agency.
An electronic summons will be deemed delivered if it’s uploaded to the recipient’s account on a relevant online service in an information system.
In addition a person will receive notification of the summons through his or her account with an online portal for government services.
This new restriction is for military mobilization
As per TASS, summons shall be deemed served seven days after the day it was registered in the draft registry if it’s not delivered in writing.
According to the new restriction if a person misses their military enlistment office without a good cause within 20 days of the date they received the summons temporarily limits will be placed on them.
However various regions in Russia will be free to enact their own additional regulations and this may include restricting different payments, benefits and other forms of social support.
Those who are required to serve in the military will be prohibited from leaving Russia beginning from the day they get summons till they go to the recruitment office.
However with this new law, the electronic call up bill Putin aims to make military mobilization more efficient.
According to reports, over 300,000 men were mobilized last year to support it’s “special military” Ukraine .
