Ever since the death of Radio, Weasel has failed to find his best fit musically and has collaborated with a number of vocalists such as King Saha but hasn’t found a singing partner.
Dre Cali who is signed to Ykee Benda’s Mpaka records is likened by many to the late Goodlyf singer, Radio. This is due to his vocals and lyrics as exhibited in his “Ebisooka nebisembayo” hit last year.
The collaboration these two artists are working on is titled “Singa”. Fans are eagerly waiting to see if the old golden days of Radio and Weasel can somehow be revived.
Weasel speaking about Dre Cali said, “Dre Cali is my brother and we have been with him for some time. He is one of the people who love and care about me so I decided to hook up with him.”
Weasel went ahead to say that he worked with Dre Cali because he is very talented. And the fact that it is a public secret, the late Radio is Dre Cali’s inspiration.
Weasel also refuted the claims that he’s trying to find a singing partner to replace the late “Neera” singer since he’s simply irreplaceable.
“There is so much talent in this world, Radio wasn’t the only talented star but I see so many people who just need a hand to go to the top. Radio inspired Dre Cali”. Weasel noted while appearing on NBS’ Uncut show.
Dre Cali on his part noted that the collaboration was a blessing to him. It will help him grow his fan base as Weasel is one of the most popular artists in Uganda. And due to his exploits with the late Radio.
