Rapper Identified As Beyoncés Cousin Fatally Shot In Texas

Authorities in Texas are searching for a 21-year-old woman suspected of fatally shooting a rapper believed to be a cousin to Beyoncé. The victim in the story is a San Antonio hip-hop artist known as Martell DeRouen.

Martell was found dead by police in his apartment on Tuesday. The police had been called there for a welfare check after a friend reported not hearing from Martell for a couple of days.

The 34-year-old rapper went by the stage name Kardone and was signed with a Sony-affiliated record label. When friends to the deceased requested a comment, a representative declined to respond.

Friends have identified Martell as Beyoncé’s cousin. However, the artiste has not publically spoken about her cousin’s death.

‘’Kardone was one of those who rose and shined bright, brighter than, you know, some of those that was in the room with him,’’ Brian Mitchell, owner of Fyngermade Studio said. He described his friend as ‘’quiet,’’ humble, and gentle.

Mitchell said that even though Martell was related to Beyoncé, he never let that get to his head at any moment. He said it isn’t something Martell was so proud of that he would even not mention it to people. The lot would only indicate it in Martell’s bio however much the rapper didn’t like that kind of stuff.

The police have identified Sasha Skare, 21, as a suspect in Martell’s murder. A warrant is out for her arrest and she is currently at large. Mitchel said he is still having a hard time understanding why his friend was killed.
