However, APass came out and made it clear using Social media, that Bobi Wine should be freed because he’s also a Ugandan. The ‘Didada’ singer claimed that the police promised to serve and protect its citizens, but they rather went astray.

Apass asked the police to free Bobi Wine.

This is what APass posted.

‘You promised to serve and protect us but you arrested Bobi Wine and beat him up like a thief, It’s very sad that bobi wine has been treated this way, this is very sad, we would like to hear from him but he can’t even talk or even walk, how could it get to this, and for what !!! The bitterness is too much around him, We know you don’t like what he stands for or what you claim he did but if he did all this why beat him up, why not put him in prison and take him to court after, where is the law and order in Uganda 🇺🇬 And how will you extract information from him in court when he can’t even talk and reason well after heavy beating, Please do the right thing and free our brother. #FreeBobiwineQuickly’. Apass lamented.

Nevertheless, the family to Robert Kyagulanyi implied that they are currently in Gulu, and it was said that Bobi Wine was produced before the military court and charged with three counts of illegal possession of firearms. Sadly, no one is allowed to see him including his family, because he was badly tortured.

‘Today we spent the whole day in Gulu. Bobi Wine was produced before the military court and charged with three counts of illegal possession of firearms. No one else was permitted to see him including his family and the press, except lawyers Hon. Asuman Basalirwa and Hon. Medard Ssegona. He has been remanded to Makindye military prison until 23rd August, 2018.

According to the two lawyers, Bobi is in a very worrying state. He was badly tortured. He cannot stand, sit or even walk on his own. His face is badly deformed and he has a fractured back and hip. He has wounds all over his body, including one on his head and ear. The lawyers also say that he has not yet fully regained consciousness and does not fully appreciate what is going on around him. He could barely talk coherently to them.
