Ronald Mayinja Explains Why Geoffrey Lutaaya Missed His Concert

Band musician Ronald Mayinja has opened up on why fellow singer and once music brother, Geoffrey Lutaaya didn’t show up to his concert organized at Serena Hotel last month.

Mayinja had a fully packed house including different celebrities.

Some of his old acquaintances like Mesach Ssemakula, Maureen Nantume were all present. However, neither Lutaaya nor his wife Irene Namatovu were anywhere to be seen. Speaking about it, the Doreen singer said that his fellow could have been busy.

He probably maybe had his own show since it was Women’s day. Besides, he could have had parliamentary affairs to run in his constituency of Kakuuto.

“It’s alright for my brother to not have attended. Remember he is an MP and could have had things to do in his constituency of Kakuto. It was also women’s day so he could have had his own show,” the singer said.

It should be noted that these singers started Eagles Production together back in the early 2000s. However, several years ago, they had misunderstandings.

Lutaaya moved on with his wife and formed Da Nu Eagles Band. Mayinja on the other hand rebranded to Golden Band alongside the likes of Mesach, Catherine Kusasira, Fred Sseruga among others.

Meanwhile, Mayinja also said that he was surprised by the turn-up of revelers at the concert. The venue, fees and political climate made him think that it wouldn’t succeed.

However, he was left surprised and appreciative of all who turned up. He promised to release more edutainment songs henceforth.
