At first he was against the ruling party and it’s president Museveni but later joined him and went against the opposition.
His supporters and people around him didn’t understand his take on politics
However, he insisted that he is fighting for those that don’t have a voice. Joining politics and especially the ruling party, created a huge gap between some of his fans that used to enjoy his music.
At the moment, Ronald Mayinja is not so much into music. It’s been ages since he released a song for his fans.
The last song he released was about politics and it was about president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. He was calling out people to vote him so that he can lead another term.
Although his fan base of music decreased, in a recent interview with Urban Television, Ronald Mayinja said he doesn’t regret joining politics at all.
According to him, he has achieved a lot from politics and he has learnt how people live especially those in deep villages that truly support politics.
Mayinja said he has achieved a lot from music and at the moment, even if he doesn’t sing again, people still know him and his music will forever live.
“I don’t regret joining politics at all because I have seen and learnt a lot from it. As an artiste, I can’t lie, I didn’t know how people live life deep down there. But since I joined politics, I had time to interact with people, not sing and I have known what it is in villages,” Ronald Mayinja said.
