Rosemary Sseninde Promises To Help NRM Regain Support In Buganda

Rosemary Sseninde, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) director of mobilization has promised to help her party regain support in Buganda.

She said she is going to address all the issues that caused the party to lose so badly in central. The National Unity Platform candidates defeated all NRM candidates.

Unlike before, this time around, Buganda gave most of the support to opposition specifically, NUP party. However, the party has never come out to say why exactly though they made a few speculations.

A few issues that caused this probably were; rising youth unemployment, corruption, nepotism and patronage and the emergence of Robert Kyagulanyi’s NUP.

Rosemary Sseninde says she is going to work with her party to avert this during these 5 years of leadership.

“I am not going to do this alone because we are going to work as a team. There are issues for which we shall seek the president’s guidance on how to handle,” said Sseninde.

She added that she is going to work upon the issues of the youths in Kampala as well.

“We are aware and have tried to address some of these issues that affect the youth. I have been in Parliament for 20 years and so I understand and appreciate most of the challenges the youth are facing and with this new responsibility, I will ensure that most of these challenges are addressed.”
