President Museveni has issued a warning to different districts which have failed to comply with the immunization program to help save children’s lives, Rota virus vaccine has been introduced according to Nile Post.

Rota Virus vaccine was launched in Buikwe district by the prime minister of Uganda, Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, he said in his speech that president Museveni emphasized that it’s time for all districts to make immunization programs a priority incase the country is to limit infant death.
In an initiative to limit death due to preventable ailments such as Diarrhoea, the Ugandan government has today unveiled a new Rota Virus Vaccine which will help protect children under 5 years against Diarrhoea.
However, the number of immunized children is affected by those that never finish the dose and couldn’t follow up and president Museveni strongly condemns it.
The leading cause of diarrhea in children under 5 is Rota virus infection, it’s distinguished with terrible dehydrating diarrhea in infants which leads to death.
Diarrhoea is one of the top 10 causes of morbidity in the country and rota virus is 40 percent accountable for all cases of diarrhea, according to Ministry of Health.
Dr Aceng Ruth, the health minister noted that approximately 10,637 children under the age of five die in Uganda every year due to rota virus diarrhoea.
