Bob Collymore, the Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya telecom giant, Safaricon PLC has died at the age of 61 at his home in Kenya’s capital Nairobi early morning on Monday.

In October 2017, Bob Collymore took a medical leave purposely to battle with cancer.
The Guyanese-born British citizen has all along been battling with cancer in different hospitals and just of recent at Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi. A couple of weeks ago, his condition became severe and his life came to an end very early in the morning on Monday,’Group chairman Nganga Nicholas said in part of the statement.

Bob has been Safaricom’s head of both East and Central Africa, which recently announced a record Shs63.4 billion profit, since he replaced Joseph Micheal late 2010
