Rumors are a bound for Samsung foldable smartphones,[3] which are expected to release in February 2017 at Mobile World Congress. Buzz about the new technology is so fervent that even Samsung is talking about the possibility.[1]

Samsung President and CEO of the North American division,[1] Gregory Lee, recently stated at the Rutberg’s Future: Mobile conference that foldable displays are “right around the corner.” [10]This is likely the most concrete details the public will get about the technology until the official unveiling.[5]
Pundits suggest that Lee’s comments make it seem like foldable display smartphones could release sometime in 2016.
However,[2] since a report from Bloomberg indicted the manufacturer would release two foldable devices in 2017,[5] the latter suggestion holds more weight.
At least one of Samsung’s developments is called “Project Valley.”[8] The device starts as a 5-inch standard smartphone size and can fold out into an 8-inch tablet size, according to Bloomberg . [10]At this time, no other specification details are known about the device. It may be called the Samsung X.[4]
