The Ugandan defender finally becomes a professional footballer after signing a three-year deal with a foreign club.
Kabugo flew to Congo’s capital, Kinshasa three weeks ago for trials at AS Vita where he perfectly impressed the club manager, Ibenge Florent and hence signing a three years contract.
I humbly thank God for such a great opportunity given on to me and I also appreciate everyone who played a great role in this move. I have come here not for the sake of coming, but to make history with AS Vita and I believe I have what it takes to fit in this team,’’he said.
Savio Kabugo who attracted public attention in AFCON qualifiers 2014 after scoring a winning goal for Uganda Cranes against Ghana’s black stars at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole has previously played for Proline FC, SC Victoria, URA FC and SC Villa.
