Sheebah Finally Exonerates Mwenda In Sexually Harassment Case As Police Commences Investigations

Songstress Sheebah Karungi has finally revealed the man who sexually assaulted her a few days ago. This was confirmed by Police spokesperson Fred Enanga in a press statement.

Further, Enanga revealed that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (CID) has launched investigations into the incident.

Apparently, the singer filed the complaint yesterday, 17th May 2022. During her interaction with CID, she divulged details of the altercation with this culprit.

According to the Police statement, Sheebah refuted claims that madea rounds in the media that it was Andrew Mwenda.

Apparently a team of detectives have taken on the matter to ascertain the facts so that Sheebah finds justice. They also commended the singer for the courage she took to report this matter.

“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has instituted inquiries into the alleged incident of indecent assault against Sheebah Karungi, a popular music artist. This is after she formally made her complaint at CID headquarters today 17.05.2022.

During the interaction with the CID officers, Sheebah revealed the details and the individual who was involved and the related circumstances.

In her complaint she clearly mentions the suspect and refutes the ongoing speculation in sections of the media that it was Andrew Mwenda.

In view of the above, a team of Detectives have commenced investigations on the matter to ensure justice for the victim.

We do thank Sheeba for taking the courage to report the matter. We assure the public that as Uganda Police we take matters of Gender-Based Violence seriously,” a statement from the Force read.

It’s not yet clear whether the Police will finally reveal the culprit after the conclusion of the investigations.

Sheebah alleged that a top dignitary with SFC guards sexually assaulted her as she was taking a nap in her car. This happened as she waited to perform at a certain function in Kampala.

Many had speculated that it was Andrew Mwenda although it’s not clear why fingers pointed at him. A bitter Andrew Mwenda came out in the news to refute these rumors.

He even asked the first son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba to accord Sheebah the necessary security. This is so that she reports the culprit.

Some sections of the public actually alleged that Sheebah was only pulling a stunt. Others however commended her bravery because this was a voice for the voiceless.
