Sheilah Gashumba Summons President Museveni On Unnecessary Covid Tests At Entebbe Airport

City socialite, Sheilah Gashumba took to her Twitter page to summon the President to intervene in the way the Covid-19 tests are being done at the airport.

The Twitter influencer said that day-by-day businesses in Uganda are collapsing but a certain Safari lab is minting out billions of shillings with unnecessary COVID-19 tests.

She then tagged the President asking whether he knows about these illegitimate occurrences that are happening in Entebbe.

“Most People in Uganda have lost jobs i.e teachers etc, schools, restaurants and bars are all on sale while the owners of Safari Lab and Test and Fly bank 1 billion shillings plus every day through uncalled for covid tests!! Mr @KagutaMuseveni, do you know about this??” Sheilah Gashumba tweeted.

The media personality then cited an example of 300 passengers who recently missed their flight. This is because this lab had delayed their COVID 19 results.

She added that the lab had already collected money from each individual yet it made them miss their flights.

“300 passengers missed their flights because of Safari lab sending covid results late after Emirates closing the check in gate. keep In mind Safari lab had already collected 75 million (250,000) each passenger !!Oh Uganda,” the socialite added.

Some of her followers re-echoed the same sentiment . Some saying that COVID-19 has become a money minting scheme.

Safar Lab on the other hand is one of the accredited laboratories by the Ministry of Health to carry out COVID-19 testing and is situated in Entebbe.

Besides the exorbitant fees, passengers are generally not happy on how the whole process sluggishly moves.
