As a result, Chameleone offered him a collaboration and they released a hit song known as Nkoleki.
Since then, his music career has never been able to move forward. He was just reduced to being the Valu Valu singer’s backup vocalist.
And apparently, he has no problem with it. According to Melody, he’s got a lot of things from the self-styled music doctor.
Therefore, he doesn’t see any reason that he should leave the label as he’s contented. And for the critics, he barely cares about their words because nobody sent him to sing.
Melody is comfortable being called Chameleone’s backup singer
Melody also highlighted that he was very comfortable during the COVID-19 pandemic. Whereas other musicians were fighting for sacks of posho and beans, he was nowhere in that fracas courtesy of Chameleone.
“I’m very comfortable being called Chameleone’s backup singer. Well, I have gotten a lot of things from him that I can’t name in the camera. Therefore, I will be with him for as long as I care. During the COVID era, nobody saw me fighting for posho like other musicians. Besides nobody sent me into music,” said the singer.
Apparently, the Bayuda singer has nurtured a couple of musicians who have gone ahead to back him. But some of these have ended up falling out with him bitterly though they usually end up patching up their differences.
They include the likes of Papa Cidy, Radio and Weasel, King Saha, Chagga among others. It’s therefore a miracle that Melody is still there and without any complaints after all these years.
