Deodati Aganyira, the headteacher of St. Mary’s College is a man who never goes quiet for a long time. If he does, something about him will always come-up.
Recently, he was in the news for apparently going off the rails to publicly frame Bobi Wine’s son and expose him as a drug addict. This didn’t go very well as it quickly backfired.
There is however, a new story that apparently dates back to Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at St Edwards Bakuumi in the then Kibaale district, now Kakumiro district.
Apparently, on that date, the house of the deputy headteacher Constance Nanyondo went up in flames and burnt to ashes on Deodati’s orders.
A week prior, Deodati had been allegedly involved in a sodomy act with a junior staff member of the school. Pictures and videos were filmed and presented to the deputy headteacher.
This shocked Constance that she immediately called for a meeting of the school board where she presented the evidence. This prompted the board to suspend Deodati and investigations immediately began.
As for Nanyondo, the board tasked her to report the matter to the Arch Diocese in Kampala. During her absence, Deodati organized to have her house burnt in order to destroy the evidence and disguised it as a riot by students.
In a turn of events, former IGP Kale Kaihura told police to reinstate Deodati as headteacher by force since the state had assigned him to the school.
Frustration caused Nanyondo to take her evidence to Bukedde TV to expose Deodati. His influence however, enabled him to silence Bukedde TV which never published the story.
Today, Thirteen years later, Deodati Aganyira is the headmaster of St. Mary’s College Kisubi SMACK.
Even while the Catholic Church is aware of the filth around him they have backed off and let him continue being in charge of the best Catholic boys school in Uganda.
