Yusaku Maezawa, a Japanese businessman earlier today revealed his crew after he searched for creative individuals globally in 2021. American DJ Steve Aoki and Korean star TOP are the most high-profile picks.
Since 1972, this journey scheduled for 2023 could be the first lunar journey by humans when it happens. The trip, from launch to return, would probably take an estimated 8 days.
The spacecraft would be seen circling the moon, coming within 200km of its surface during the proposed flyby.
It is not confirmed yet if the spacecraft has been given a green light to take off since it has been grounded in Texas for the last 18 months.
US regulators are yet to give permission for the Starship rocket from Elon Musk’s SpaceX company the crew is supposed to fly on.
Regardless though, Mr Maezawa made no mention of this delay in his video announcing the crew for the mission he’s dubbed dear moon.
