Kasuku said even before government came out to say anything about this, schools were already planning to close earlier than they should. This is mainly because of the economic situation at hand.
The Ministry Of Health communicated that due to the spread of Ebola that had even started spreading in schools, students shouldn’t be kept so long in schools.
Now that primary students have finished their papers, primary schools may close in a period of two weeks from now. As for secondary schools, government said they should be closing soon too and probably leave form six students.
Students had been scheduled to get holidays in December. Schools have been trying to cover up for lost time during lockdown where students sat for over two years.
Due to the current situation though, looks like this is going to be quite impossible this time round. Two districts are currently under lockdown because of Ebola. With the way things are, the government doesn’t want to take risks.
Meanwhile, the education sector has already been going through a lot already. At this point though, the safety of the students is more treasured than any other thing.
