We Should Stop Creating New Districts To Save Money – Museveni!

The Ugandan president, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni said adding on more districts has consumed National resources, he however urges political leaders including the Members of Parliament to halt supporting the creation of new regions.

While in Kampiringisa, Mpigi district at the celebration to mark the International Youth Day, Museveni said if we get more resources in place, then definitely the government will have money to support the youth through their income generating projects, according to Nile Post.

On the issue of capital, I ask the ministers and Members of Parliament to assist me in highlighting some disbursements like new districts creation so that more money is made available as capital for the youth, ‘’said the president.

Previously, the president gave a good reason of new districts as a way of liberating some racial groups and easy access to services.

When he took power in 1986, there was only 33 districts and as of now, the pearl of Africa has over 120 districts.
