All knowledge and competence trainers or teachers in Kasese district were seriously warned over subjecting their pupils and students to corporal punishments, since it’s not the only solution to solve issues.

However, according to the Assistant Commissioner for Youth and Children Affairs Kyateka, Kasese district teachers are always harsh and brutal instead of training pupils in a right way without caning them. Kasese is among the top districts where leaders in schools and other sectors use a lot of force to discipline people they teach.
The Assistant Commissioner for Youth and Children Affairs spoke during a meeting set up by Spotlight Initiative two days back. He claimed that most teachers use extra force to learners in terms of hard labor, which impose more fear for them to interact with each-other.
Therefore the commissioner warned teachers to stop that behavior unless they want to loose their jobs. They were asked to follow guidelines issued by government to create a bond between them.
