Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi region police spokesperson identified the deceased as Chris Abigaba, a boda boda rider.
The other two victims included a 17-year-old Agustus Ahimbisibwe and a 6-yar-old Ameria Abaho who were passengers on the boda boda. The three were residents of Kagongi village in Ibanda district.
The police spokesperson further identified the MTN driver on the run as Eddy Inavurunguti, 37, and a resident of Mbarara City.
Kasasira also noted that the fatal accident occurred on 23rd December 2021 at around 9:30 am at Akachunchu-Kagongi Trading Center. It involved a white-colored Toyota double cabin registration number UAY 304 A, belonging to MTN.
The other automobile was a red Bajaj boxer motorcycle registration number UEF 548L ridden by Abigaba, with two passengers.
The OC of Rubindi Police Station Sgt. Bamwesigye, assisted by PC Aisiah also visited the scene of the crime. Police further took the bodies of the deceased to Mbarara Regional Referral hospital mortuary for postmortem.
Police towed both the motorcycle and vehicle to Rubindi Police station pending I.O.V inspection and the driver is on PF 94 as inquiries are at hand.
