The crowning of these stars will take place at Route 255 Restaurant in Lugogo, Kampala.
They will award icons in the sports world for the hard work and toiling they went through in preparation to represent the country.
This is also going to be a way of rewarding excellence and success as confessed by the Executive Director, Isaac Mukasa.
‘’The Fortbet Real Stars monthly awards are back on Monday to reward those who excelled in the month of July 2021. We are happy to have these awards back and special thanks to the sponsors as well as those sports personalities who are actively involved in the games,’’ Mukasa disclosed.
He also took a moment to recognize the sports federations that organize these events. And also the media that publicize the events.
Uganda’s sensational long-distance duo of Joshua Cheptegei and Jacob Kiplimo are together with 800m and 1500m Olympic semifinalists. The trio will be battling for the July gong.
In the 10,000m race at the ongoing Tokyo Olympic Games, Cheptegei won silver. This was ahead of Kiplimo who took bronze in a slower race. The two ended Uganda’s 9-year-Olympic medal drought.
Nanyondo came close to securing a place in the 800m global games final despite a spirited performance last Saturday.
Besides the headline sponsor Fortbet, these awards are also powered by Canaan Soda and Jude Color Solutions.
