Traffic Police Officer Tusiime Abdallah who was seen in a viral video being slapped by a road user while on duty is now smiling. This officer apparently nabbed the woman talking on te phone while driving but instead of stopping she refused.

He followed her to her destination at Lugogo UMA Shopping Grounds where the unfortunate incident happened.

This woman, identified as Mercy Timbitwire Bashisha, proceeded to slap the officer when he tried to grab her phone. This immediately caused her arrest.

She has now been charged with assaulting an officer and attempted robbery of an EPS Machine valued at 14 million shillings. She was then remanded to prison until 4th November.

For Tusiime, this act of bravery and due diligence in his work has resulted in blessings. Besides being recognized by the Uganda Police Force for his patriotic work, other well-wishers have also chimed in to help.

One of the well-wishers, an Anglican Bishop, promised to foot the school fees of Tusiime’s three sons who are still young until they finish school. He revealed that he has 3 kids with the oldest being 7 years old and currently in nursery school.

Additionally, this traffic police officer has a dream of pursuing a law degree at IUIU. A GoFundMe page has already been set up where all well-wishers have been asked to contribute just Shs. 2000.

The person who set it up contributed 500,000 shillings and more expressed their desire to contribute.

Meanwhile, Tusiime had also been trending before this incident. He was noted as the officer who is always around the areas of Kamwokya-Ntinda arranging traffic despite the heavy downpours in Kampala.
