The former president called the search an assault. To everyone’s surprise, it appeared as a surprise to top aides at the White House.
However, though, this account is a signal to an escalation in the various investigations into the final points of his presidency.
According to some people familiar with the investigation, the search appeared to be focused on material the former president brought to his home after leaving the White House.
The boxes reportedly contained multiple pages of classified documents.
After the news broke late Monday night, a few dozen Trump supporters had gathered across the street from the former president’s home. They also held Trump-Pence flags and some others wore red Make America Great Again caps.
Apparently, they were also angered by the news of the feds conducting a search at their president’s home. And the fact that they also broke a safe. Vehicles of Trump supporters lined South Ocean Boulevard. People had gotten out of their cars to express their support — some rather loudly. One of the vehicles there played the 80s rock ’n’ roll anthem “We’re Not Gonna Take It,” by Twisted sister.
At the time of the raid, Trump wasn’t at his home. A Fox reporter shared a photo that showed him leaving the Trump Tower in New York.
Meanwhile In other news, TIME Magazine drew negative criticism online after the paper unveiled its upcoming cover image on Friday, June 11. The magazine cover showed a sunglasses-wearing US President Biden with reflections of Putin non them.
This came ahead of the upcoming summit between Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Geneva on June 16.
