This happened after a private business plane they flew crashed in a forest in the Democratic Republic of Congo in South Kivu.
Jackson Ninsiima and his fellow pilot from Russia only identified as Peter were the victims of the crash. The two were flying to Goma from a DRC border near Kasese when the plane crashed.
Authorities reported this plane missing on Friday after it left Kasese with some goods onboard. Furthermore, a search for the plane took place and images of the crashed plane were shared on social media. It is however unclear who owned the plane.
This isn’t the only plane crash that has happened in East Africa recently. A Tanzanian plane also crashed on Sunday in lake Victoria.
The crash happened as the plane attempted to land in the lakeside town of Bukoba. The crash claimed the lives of 19 people out of the 43 people who were onboard. The other 26 were sent to the hospital for treatment.
