Apparently, Uganda Communications Commission has failed to ascertain to the Parliamentary Committee on Rules, Privileges, and Discipline whether Francis Zaake used his Twitter or Facebook account to post the controversial statement of undermining the Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
UCC says it’s only the management of Twitter or Facebook that can ascertain this.
A certain group of Parliamentarians started a campaign to throw the MP out of Parliament. Around 290 MPs had signed up for this.
However, things don’t seem to be going as planned because of the lack of evidence. Most claim, Zaake used his social media to abuse the Deputy Speaker. However, She apparently provoked him as well by mocking the torture he has been through all this while.
“If deputy speaker didn’t say anything about Zaake, we wouldn’t be discussing this. However, in a football game, we call it quick reaction and that’s why Hon. Zaake is supposed to be punished,” one of the people from the public reacted.
Some people from the public, however, say the country is being distracted from concentrating on the alarming high prices of basic goods.
“Thank you UCC as if they didn’t know to do background before proceeding to the committee. Now can we get back to rising commodity prices,” a one Job Muhumuza said.
