Uganda’s Coronavirus Cases Rises To 274

The total number of coronavirus cases in Uganda has risen to 274 after ten more people whose samples tested positive for the deadly virus on Wednesday.

Among the ten new cases, 9 cases are Ugandan cargo truck drivers whereas one is a contact to the previously confirmed truck driver.

The new confirmed cases were part of the 1,497 people whose sample were tested on Wednesday.

Following a Presidential Directive of deducting all foreign truck drivers from Uganda’s total confirmed case count, the confirmed COVID-19 cases now stand at 145.

11 foreign truck drivers were handed over to their country of origin. Total Foreign truck drivers handed over to their country of origin since Presidential directive: 124

Samples of truck drivers tested today: 1,264

community samples tested: 233

Total samples tested today: 1,497

COVID-19 recoveries: 65
