Uganda Cranes landed an invitation to a four national mini-tournament (2022 Navruz Cup) in Uzbekistan, central Asia. Uganda is among the four countries that will take part in this tournament between 25th to 29th March 2022.
The other three countries participating in the tournament include the hosts Uzbekistan. The neighbors Tajikistan and Kyrgyz Republic will also participate.
The team’s head coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic notes that this mini-tournament will help him prepare for the upcoming AFCON 2023 qualifiers.
“We have been invited for the Navruz Cup in Uzbekistan. This will be a general check-up for team in preparation of the Total Energies AFCON 2023 qualifiers” Micho revealed.
In similar news earlier reported by NEWSLEXPOINT.com, Uganda Cranes lost 1-0 to the Iraq national team during an international build up game played at the Al-Shohada International Stadium. The match took place in Baghdad city on Friday, 21 January, 2022.
Alana Abbas Abdulnabi Al-Fartoosi scored the only goal of the games at the fully packed stadium of about 60,000 spectators.
