Uganda Has No Political Parties But Cults – Charles Rwomushana

Ugandan political analyst, Charles Rwomushana, has come out to claim that Uganda has no political parties but rather cults. Rwomushana who always paints himself as a neutral figure said that both NRM and NUP aren’t political parties.

He pointed out that NUP is now drowned in weddings while for the NRM, it’s all about Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s birthday.

He then went ahead to point out the Parliamentary institution which all got washed away by a Range Rover. And this has now even got junior lands Minister Persis Namuganza censored.

“We don’t have political parties in Uganda. We have cults. What is prominent in NUP now are weddings. In NRM, it’s MK’s birthday. In Parliament, the romance of the Range Rover which has even resulted in the censure of a minister.”

However, Rwomushana’s co-panelist, Hon Betty Nambooze, advised people to desist from what Rwomushana says. This is because they will get confused by it. Nambooze said that what’s clear in Uganda is in a crisis.

She wondered how a serving UPDF officer talks about politics and gets rewarded for it. This was in regard to the first son, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

Muhoozi has continued to express his political views openly despite still serving in the army. However, instead of being penalized, his father Gen Museveni has always left him off the hook much to the disappointment of Ugandans.
