They said they have done a few songs written by others. However, they didn’t turn out to be great for them thus ditching them.
The Salary hitmakers further said that all their hit songs have been written by themselves. According to them, most of the songwriters’ expertise doesn’t go beyond Uganda.
On top of that, they need musicians who can either sing well or force a song to become a hit. However, for Radio, he could write for anyone and the song would turn out to be a hit.
Read their statement below;
“We write most of our songs. All our hit songs have been written by us. We tried a couple of songwriters but they didn’t turn out well. Uganda hasn’t had a good songwriter since the death of Radio. He’s the only one who could write songs for different musicians and they would become hits. But most of the songwriters here are confined to the Ugandan sound,” the duo said.
It should be noted that there are several songwriters such as Sheena Skies, Hatim and Dokey, Fyno, Nince Henry, Anko Ronnie among others. All of these have written numerous hit songs for different artistes and continue to do so.
Meanwhile, Uga Boys have just one hit song, titled Salary. However, they have come across as quite some of the most egoistic singers in the recent past.
This is a thing that has made them clash with different singers and some sections of the public. A while ago, they were involved in a verbal war with Pallaso. This is after they trashed his collaboration with Jamaican singer Konshens.
