Uganda Registers Second Covid-19 Death

Uganda’s Health Ministry has on Sunday confirmed the second covid-19 death as the country’s cases soars.

Health Ministry’s spokesperson, Mr Ainebyoona Emmanuel confirmed that the deceased was an 80 year old woman, a resident of Mengo Kisenyi llll in Kampala. She was first admitted at Platinum Hospital on Friday, 24th July 2020 at 5:00 and later referred at Mengo Hospital, according to the statement shared by Ministry of Health on it’s social media platforms.

On 23rd July 2020, Ministry of Health confirmed the first ever coronavirus related death in Uganda. The 34 year old female Ugandan from Namisindwa District died on 21st at a Healthcare centre in Mbale District.

Please, PLEASE, be vigilant. Protect yourself and those around you. Wear a mask PROPERLY, maintain social distancing, and sanitize your hands regularly. It’s on us, we have to stop this, but we need to follow the SOPs,’one of the followers tweeted while advising Ugandans.

Meanwhile, the Ministry has also confirmed 12 new covid-19 cases, bringing the number of confirmed cases in the country to 1,115. One Ugandan cargo truck driver, 3 alerts, 7 contacts and and 1 returnee. Cumulative Ugandan recoveries to date are 975. deaths so far are 2.
