Ugandan Artistes Defy Presidential Guidelines As They Stage Massive Christmas Concert

A section of Ugandan artistes and events promoters defied the COVID 19 Presidential guidelines of no concerts as they staged a massive Christmas concert. Events promoter Abbey Musinguzi of Abitex Promotions organized the concert in Mutukula.

Mutukula which lies between Uganda and Tanzania is almost a no man’s land and Uganda has no jurisdiction there.

Some of the Ugandan artistes who performed included Eddy Kenzo, Serena Bata, Ray G, Mathias Walukaga, Maulana & Reign among others.

The number of people was huge and the place just flooded with the attendees. According to the footage released from this concert, there was neither social distancing nor masks. It’s however evident that the revelers got a happy time at this concert.

It should be recalled that singers and events organizers had tried to plead with the government to let them work in the festive season. This section however decided to be creative and take the party where no one has a say.

Kenzo and the duo of Maulana & Reign almost spent the night behind bars. This is after police intercepted them on a roadblock on their way back. They however sorted the issue out amicably and returned to Kampala.
