Ugandan UK-based journalist Allan Kasujja has hailed media personality Douglas Lwanga’s Purple Party. It should be noted that the Purple Party had an edition in London over the weekend which massively sold out.
This was spearheaded by the current hottest Ugandan singer, Alien Skin. Other singers included David Lutalo, Azawi and Mikie Wine. However, it was the Tonkaka singer who wowed the fans the most since he’s currently topping the charts.
According to Kasujja, he finds Alien Skin’s story so inspirational. Rising from the ghetto to ruling the airwaves. And then boarding the plane for the first time for his maiden show in London. It surely is a rollercoaster of emotions for the singer.
The BBC journalist also heaped praise on Lwanga’s concept of the Purple Party.
He pointed out how running the franchise with his wife, Linda is a great tactic. And having sold out in Uganda, they have been targeting Ugandans in the diaspora and all their shows in Dubai and London were a massive success.
“I love this story. Young man from the ghetto with Uganda’s hottest song of the last few months “sitya danger” – meaning I don’t fear danger. His flight from Entebbe to London was his first time on a plane. The show, in London, is dubbed a Purple Party. A concept put together by a young man @DouglasLwangaUg. He runs it with his partner Linda. They did well in Uganda and have now decided to target Ugandans in the diaspora. Dubai was huge and London a great success too!,” said the journalist.
This is not the first time that the NBS TV journalist is shipping his Purple Party overseas. And luckily for him, he has severally received overwhelming support from Ugandans in the diaspora.
