UNEB Set To Scientifically Release UCE Results Today

Uganda National Examinations Board will release UCE results today in a scientific manner. The Minister of Education, Mrs Janet Museveni will head this activity at state house, Nakasero.

Ms Jenipher Kalule, the Public Relations Officer of UNEB said they briefed Mrs Janet Museveni about the performance of students.

It was apparently a successful discussion and this is why they decided to release the UCE results.

A total of 333,889 candidates registered for 2020 UCE examinations from 3,935 centres in 2019. 49.8 per cent of the candidates were male and 50.2 per cent female. Of these, 148,135 were under Universal Secondary Education (USE) while 185,754 candidates were non-USE candidates.

In Primary though, males were more than the females in number and even performed much better.

As students, teachers, parents and heads of school wait to know how children performed, some warnings have been put out.

Ms Kasule has warned everyone to desist from gathering crowds because the lockdown is still on and Covid is still real.

However, they gave the same warning in the PLE results release but people failed to adhere to it. Some schools and even parents gathered in celebration of their children’s performance.

After this, the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education candidates will be waiting for their results as well.

However, there is no clear plan yet on how these children will report back to school. It’s still so uncertain how even schools can operate amid Covid-19.
