In an effort to provide choices for prospective students joining universities of their choice to pursue higher education, National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) has organized 11th Uganda Annual Higher Education Exhibition from 21st to 23rd March 2019 at UMA Lugogo Show Grounds, Kampala.
The three days Exhibition under the theme Mainstreaming Information and Communication Technology. The Exploitation of Social Media for Higher Education delivery and Management is expected to host over 40 universities both private and government.
National Council for Higher education director however warned students against joining unlicensed and registered universities in the country so that they do not fall prey of fake march rooming universities in the country.
“Prospective students and parents should look out for the list of registered universities and other tertiary institutions. these are the only recommended institutions that should admit and registered students to pursue higher education,”Asibo Opuda warned.
NCHE is at the forefront of higher education transformation in light the demand for higher education.it regulates and monitors operations of both private and public universities to ensure quality education standards.
“Our role is to regulate higher education, and to guide the establishment of institutions of higher learning as well as ensure that quality and relevant education is delivered, the National Council for Higher Education was established by an Act of Parliament,”Opuda said.
The national Council is a semi-autonomous and self-accounting body with a secretariat headed by the Executive Director.
