The Uganda revenue authority(URA) has come out to introduce taxes on religious books i.e; Quarns, holy Bibles and Hymn books.

This tax however has not been applauded by the people and they’re against it already.
People claim that they thought government taxes things that generate income and these books don’t.
In their defense, the commissioner General of URA Doris Akol said that URA not taxing the religious books in the past years was abnormal.
Taxing by the government on different things keeps on increasing typically.
First it was on the social media tax then after the increase in the mobile money transactions Saccos and also the introduction of the rental tax.
This rate of taxing is totally becoming abnormal
