Villagers in Bungoma County Kenya have been left in total shock after the angry youth set fire on the dead body of an elderly woman and the casket in which she was going to be buried in.
Simiyu Evalyne’s burial was to take place on Tuesday, but a group of unruly youth, who where said to be boda boda cyclists, slanted on her coffin and set her body ablaze.
Over the past 2 months, this elderly was attacked and wounded by some villagers, who also set her house on fire over witchcraft allegations.
Since then, she has all along been admitted in the Hospital until she died from the effect of the injuries following the above incident.
Her family made preparations for her burial, which in the end turned out into an incredible shock.
The angry youth claimed that the deceased killed all her co-wives and their 7 children using witchcraft, adding that they never died a natural death.
The authorities in the area had warned the family against holding Simiyu’s burial without security officers,’said the Deputy County Commissioner, Mr Tanui John.
