Vipers FC, the leaders of the UPL table will be hoping for their decent run over BUL FC to continue when the two sides meet later today.
The Venoms enjoy facing BUL who have won just twice against them since they were promoted to top division over ten years ago.
The last time BUL beat Vipers happened in 2016 with a 1-0 away win. Before that, they had beaten the four-time champions 2-1 at Kakindu in 2014.
In the last 18 meetings, Vipers have picked 11 wins and drawn five in the league. However, they must expect a tough game against a very improved BUL side under Coach Alex Isabirye.
And based on the reverse fixture at Kitende which ended 1-1, the Venoms must dig deeper. This is especially if they are to thrive over 7th placed BUL.
As for BUL, they stand a chance to climb to 3rd position with maximum points, therefore, there is much to play for on their side.
This will be the first game for the hosts without their key talisman Musa Esenu. Esenu joined Rayon Sport of Rwanda in the window.
Isabirye has hailed the day’s opponents but remains confident that his boys will get the job done.
‘’Vipers is one of the most organized and tough sides in the division but we have prepared well and believe we can pick all points,’’ said Isabirye.
The hosts are without suspended Said Keni and Richard Ayiko for the game. A win for Vipers will stretch their lead to four points for at least two hours. Second-placed KCCA will host URA moments later on.
