Vipers SC will have one last shot at the CAF Championships League quarter-finals today. They will be facing off against Tanzania’s Simba FC in Dar es Salaam later on today.
The game will be played at the Benjamin Mpaka Stadium and both sides will be desperate for maximum points.
Simba, placed third on the table with three points, got them from the reverse fixture in Kitende. The team knows that a win could see them take over AC Horoya of Guinea placed second in the table.
AC Horoya will face Group C leaders Raja Casablanca in Conakry and are just a point above Msimbazi. Siraje Sentamu who will skipper the side as Milton Karisa is absent due to an injury, sounded confident in front of the press.
“This is a very important game for us because if we win, we give ourselves a chance to fight for on for a place in the last eight,” he said.
The midfielder also believes in the available players regardless of the few injuries in the squad on Karisa, Bright Anukani and Murushid Jjuuko.
“We shall miss the other three but the ones to replace them are also good,” he added.
Simba right back Shomari Kapombe also expressed readiness from the hosts.
“It will be a tough game but we are motivated and ready to fight and win,” he stated.
If the vipers lose this game, any hopes of playing in the quarter-finals of the competition will end.
