5 Ways Of How To Handle A Bad First Date

A first date always has our stomach in knots and mostly for good reason. But, what if things don’t turn out the way you thought they would? The person who seemed so charming and perfect on texts may not be so in person.

So, here’s how to tackle a first date gone wrong!

 1. Don’t Stress About It

First things first, don’t stress over the fact that it wasn’t love-at-first sight or that you haven’t fallen in love with them by the end of the date. It is only the first time you two go out and it’s fine that things did not fall in place. You’re going to meet a lot of people and you will eventually click with the right person and then everything will be beautiful!

2. Have A Backup Plan

Have a friend and a trusted person ready to call you if things don’t fall in place. Whatsapp them or send them a SOS message to call you and help you get out of the date. This is one of the most foolproof ways to get out of the date. Plus, it doesn’t make you look like a crappy person as well!

3. Talk To Them

Let’s be honest, we’re all adults and we can all handle rejection maturely. If going out together isn’t going well, if you want, you can tell them gently that you don’t think taking things further is a great idea. Ghosting them after the date is just juvenile and not appreciated.

4. End The Date Tactfully

A simple line like “I’m sorry but I have to be home in an hour” can effectively end the date without any hard feelings. So go ahead, use simple but effective ways like these to put an end to what is turning out to be an undesirable date.

5. Go Your Own Way

If going out together did not go the way you would have preferred it to, please go your own way. Do not accept a ride back home from them. That just gives the wrong signals.
