We Are Coming To Demolish You – Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba Warns Karimojong

The Commander of the Land Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has come out to warn the Karimojong that the UPDF is going to crush them.

Muhoozi said that for a long time, the Karimojong have been begged to stop the life of robbery and violence. This has however resulted into nothing and left no choice to the security forces but to take the battle back to them.

The General added that since they can’t stop attacking their neighbors, the army is coming and it will bring hell with it.

“My Karimojong brothers! We have begged you to stop the life of robbery and violence. We have begged you to stop attacking your neighbours but to no avail! You have refused all our appeals! Well, now we are coming and hell is coming with us!,” Muhoozi tweeted a photo of the UPDF soldiers about to board an army chopper.

For a long time, cattle rustling has been a major problem for the government in the Karamoja sub-region.

Despite the efforts of the army to retrieve guns from these rustlers, it has proved futile as they always regain them in one way or another.

However, some of the General’s followers tried to advise on different ways. Some advised him to take the diplomatic route whereas others supported the use of force.

Highway robberies, cattle rustling in neighboring districts, raping women, and sometimes senseless killings of innocent people are some of the crimes that are often committed by these armed cattle herders.

They have also been blamed for creating food shortages. This is because they steal food and other property besides raiding cattle from communities.

The community had enjoyed almost a decade of relative peace after the army disarmed people. The anarchy however seems to be creeping back slowly.
