Why Are MTV MAMA Awards Being Drugged In A political Corner?

The MTV MAMA Awards are just weeks away from now but the way Ugandans have drugged them into politics is just not a good sign. The question is why are people making the awards look political? Aren’t we all supposed to be happy to host such big shows in the country? Isn’t this a milestone on our entertainment industry? So why is the public trashing them?

There are so many reasons why Ugandans may be bitter. They have chosen to look at these awards as another political situation. Social media users have made it a point to drug every person who is trying to campaign for these awards calling them traitors.

Well, we can’t entirely say that they are wrong given all the circumstances around the country.

Most of the people’s arguments are based on the fact that the government has refused internal concerts. However, the same government allows outsiders time to have concerts held here. The other argument is how can a virtual event take place in a country that is currently having internet shut down.

However, amidst all this, Ugandans have been encouraged to support the awards because they will apparently boast the tourism sector.

These awards are to take place on the 20th February 2021 here in Uganda specifically Kampala. There have been confirmed artists like Sheebah and Crysto Panda who will be performing during the event.

Well let’s wait and see how the welcome will be from the angry Ugandans.
