Why Is It Necessary To Wear A Mask?

One of the most interesting things scientists have learnt about the Coronavirus is that after a person first comes into contact with it, they can go for up to a week without feeling sick. You will know the importance of wearing a mask by the time you end this article.

There is also another group of people called “Asymptomatic”— who don’t actually get sick at all from the virus – The bad news, is that both these groups of people are able to spread the disease to others without even knowing it!

They can end up killing relatives, friends, and workmates:

Imagine a young man comes into contact with the virus at work, and visits his mother who is elderly, and unknowingly infects her. Owing to her age, his mother could die within 3 weeks!

So what do we do?

If that young man is wearing a Mask, there is only a 5% chance that he would infect his mother. If she is also wearing a Mask, the risk reduces to a negligible 1,5%.

We can stop Covid-19 spreading if everyone wears a Mask!

We don’t wear masks to protect ourselves; we wear masks to protect others.
