Winnie Kiiza Demands Muhoozi’s Resignation From Army Before Launching Political Career

It is now visible that the first son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba is eying a political career. This is something that has been in the making for some time and it was quite inevitable.

However, what’s baffling some people is that he’s launched this political move whilst still serving in the army. Among these is the former leader of Opposition in Parliament Hon Winnie Kiiza.

She has now demanded that Muhoozi resigns from the army before joining active politics. This is because doing what he’s currently doing only brings the reputation of the army into question.

“Muhoozi should first get away from the army before pushing his political ambitions. He is painting a bad picture of the country,” Hon Winnie Kiiza said.

Muhoozi who is the Commander of the Land Forces is now the topic on everyone’s lips. And he looks to be for quite some time.

All this started with his birthday celebrations which are actually still ongoing. With these celebrations, many interpreted it as making a politcal move.

All those in Muhoozi’s circles have come out to confirm that indeed he will appear on the ballot paper come 2026.

However, what is not clear is if his father President Museveni will finally hang up his boots from his beloved chair.

Meanwhile, Winnie Kiiza also highlighted why she quit FDC for Muntu’s ANT. She said that this was due to strategic reasons.

She further added that she believed joining ANT to form structures on the ground would oust Museveni. They were drawing inspiration from Opposition wins in Kasese district.

“Kasese, in 2001, gave the Reform Agenda. In 2006 and 2011, FDC won in the region. These victories were due to good mobilization and people being tired of NRM.

My moving from FDC to the ANT was majorly due to strategic reasons,” she further revealed. However, her move is yet to start bearing visible results.
