Woman Dies After Being Burnt By Husband For Returning Home Late

A woman identified as Nyira Lucy, 26, who was burnt by husband for allegedly returning home in the late hours from Kenya’s capital Nairobi where she had traveled to buy a bale clothes for sale has passed away.

After the incident on Saturday, the mother of two was rushed to Nakuru Level five Hospital where she was admitted after the doctors examined almost 25% burns on her body.

According to the medical superintendent Dr Mburu Josef, Ms Nyira had her last breath on Friday morning whilst undergoing medical treatment.

She was seriously burnt in the face, cheat and part of her back. Her deadly husband identified as Mr Kahila Bernard poured gasoline on her and set her ablaze, according to neighbours who rescued Ms Nyira after they saw a huge flame of fire emerging from their house.

Ms Nyira’s husband was heard insulting his wife at about 7:00pm, suspecting she could be having an affair with someone in Nairobi, where she normally goes to pick bales of clothes for selling.

The police has begun investigations into the matter while the suspect is being detained at Nakuru GK prison, waiting to be taken to court probably on Monday.
